Description

Set in a modern day survival-horror universe, the co-operative gameplay of Left 4 Dead (L4D) casts four "Survivors" in an epic struggle against hordes of swarming zombies and terrifying "Boss Infected" mutants. Developed by Turtle Rock Studios and Valve, creators of the Counter-Strike and Half-Life games, the latest AI technology allows for multiplayer games of one to eight players.A new and highly virulent strain of the rabies virus emerges and spreads through the human population with frightening speed. The pandemic's victims become grotesquely disfigured widely violent psychopaths, attacking the uninfected on sight. As one of the "lucky" few apparently immune to the sickness, you, unfortunately, are also trapped in a city crawling with thousands of the bloodthirsty Infected. Alone, you're dead. But together with a handful of fellow survivors, you might just fight your way to safety.Players can play as a Survivor or as one of four types of Boss Infected, each of whom possess a unique mutant ability, such as a 50-foot tongue lasso or a giant belly full of explosive methane gas. The gameplay of L4D is set across four massive campaigns. The zombie population of each mission is choreographed by an AI Director that monitors the human players' actions and creates a unique and dramatic experience for them on the fly.

what could i say about this game... its a great game n it would keep yuh entertained

This Game Is Fun, It Has A Limited Stock Of Guns Which Was A Turndown. Although It Is A Good Game.

I loved this game, I didn't buy it on amazon, I got it for Christmas. But it's an awesome game. I recently bought the second one, though I wasn't impressed with the graphics, about the same quality as the first..

Good: The graphics are 3 out of 4 stars. The graphics had to be toned down because almost everything in this game is destructible. The zombies are called The Horde or The Infected and they can smash through walls and doors. They can climb vehicles, roof tops, trees and such. Most of the zombies are super fast and some are slow by standing still, sleeping or lying down. All of your characters have a flashlight connected to their weapon and it never runs out of juice, awesome. There are a few zombie types that are called special zombies. Witches, Tanks, Boomers, Hunters and Smokers. You can tell when they're around by the different sounds they make, your teammates will let you know they're around or the different music being played. Your teammates can heal themselves and heal you. You get infinite amount of ammo with your pistol or pistols as you can dual wield. The zombies attack in huge numbers at times, I'm talking 30 at once and they rush you faster than a pack of wolves. The games environments are cool because blowing up gas stations to kill zombies is way cool. You can shut doors to keep zombies from getting to you as fast. If one or all of your teammates die but you survive. You can save them from a closet in the stage when they re-spawn, very cool. There are mounted guns in the stages of the game and you can mow down the hordes that come after you. You can pick up gas cans and propane tanks and then shoot them to burn zombies and the flames are pretty big that last a good amount of time to burn The Horde. There are plenty of health packs, ammunition fill ups, Molotov cocktails and pipe bombs to keep you filled up no matter what difficulty you're on. The game spawns zombies differently throughout the game each time you play. If you die by a Tank zombie near a safe house and you play through the stage again, the Tank may not even be around the safe house. If you stand around too long 30 plus zombies will keep coming after you. Loud noises and car alarms will send many zombies after you. If a boomer pukes on you the Horde comes after your character alone, yikes. I like the fact that the characters are not over the top. No stupid emo or slut outfits or every character covered in tattoos or fitting the stereo type with street phrases to prove how macho or bad ass they are. They're just average citizens and that is a breath of fresh air. The Bad, The Ugly: What happened to the good ol undead zombies that just rose from the dead without some type of man made virus or infection sickness? Calling a zombie infected or knowing man made it doesn't make me want to kill them but find a cure to save them. However, a person that died and then rose from the grave with unknown reasons. Get the ammo and send 'em back to God. Where are the custom controls? I can't stand being forced to play a game with a control set up that is not my own. The game is really meant to be played online. I however despise online gaming with other people because most of the Xbox Live community is filled with genuine dicks. Playing with friends all of the time gets old or can't happen due to different schedules. Solo game play is a must for quality me time or due to no other choice and games should be based on solo play first, just my opinion. The stages are incredibly short. Play one complete campaign of the game and you have the entire game in a nut shell. You start off knowing you have to get out of the area. You fight the same 5 types of zombies the whole game and you can avoid the Witches so 4 types if you always avoid one type. You call a rescue vehicle and fight off waves of zombies. Get on the rescue vehicle and game over. There are five stages in each campaign level. The stages can be beaten in 10 minutes or less. So lengthy game play is absent like a zombie's brain, I couldn't resist the comparison. Many times in the game it gets too dark to see and even with the flashlight it's still very annoying figuring out where to go. When a Boomer pukes on you your vision is blinded by thick green puke, or pea soup, and when the Horde gets on you, you cannot see where or what to shoot so your just pushing the punch or shoot buttons while spinning in a circle, a la Predator, just to stay alive. The game has quite a few bugs. You can easily get stuck in a stage by a zombie cornering you and if you kill it you may still be stuck, or get stuck from jumping the wrong way and then you just hope the game lets you out. A zombie can move like a chess piece and go from all the way at the end of the stage to right in your face and it can do that with one zombie or a few at a time. There is no save point in the game and the game does not auto save for you either. In order for you to get a few Achievements you have to play the entire campaign straight through without quiting the game. This can be a real pain if you die, get incapacitated, puked on etc. etc. The fact that the game spawns all zombie types anywhere can be a problem. Witches are insanely strong and can kill you with 3 hits or incapacitate you with one hit and that's on the easy difficulty. Sometimes a Witch will be spawned right in front of a door that you have to go through to complete the stage and she cannot be avoided, which can affect two Achievements you're trying to get. You can blow up gas stations, gas cans and propane tanks but not gas tankers or cars? There are only 5 guns in the whole game? There are two different types of shot guns. One with 8 rounds and one with 10 rounds with a pull back arm and a little difference in power. The 8 round shot gun is useless even being in the game since they put a better one in the game. I could understand a double barrel shot gun and a pump action shot gun but two of the near same, come on. I guess you can call that a different weapon but it wreaks of rip-off. You can dual wield pistols but not Uzis? There are Molotov cocktails and pipe bombs but no grenades, land mines or claymores? In this game, all could be used effectively. If this is a zombie apocalypse game. WHERE ARE THE MASSES OF WEAPONS NEEDED TO TAKE ON ZOMBIES! No baseball bats, hockey sticks, crow bars, chainsaws, bows, etc. etc. The Tanks are these Hulk looking zombies and one punch can send you flying off of a roof. Which sucks because at the end of the No Mercy campaign the last stage is on a roof. If a Hunter, Smoker or Tank get you, you have to wait for a team mate to help you because for some reason Valve decided you cannot fight back. You can if you manage to shoot the Smoker before you get too close. Problem is if the stage design doesn't screw that up by putting an object in your way or putting the Smoker on a different floor than you. Then you're guaranteed stuck. The same with the Hunter. You can either shoot them with the shot gun or punch them as they pounce. Again the problem is if you see them or stage design doesn't screw it up for you. The Tank can hit you and trap you in a corner. Your character will stand up then freeze and eventually grab their weapon as the Tank is hitting you the entire time. The game gets boring and lame as fast as the zombies run. The game suffers from lack of weapons, zombie types, detailed storyline, stage design, game mechanics, no save, team A.I. is horrendous and so are the games bugs. You will find yourself wanting more game and more in the game. There are two online added game packs to download for this but it doesn't make it worth it at all. All in all Left 4 Dead feels more like a demo rather than a finished product and should be left 4 dead on the shelves.

This game is repetitive. Just the same thing over and over and over again. You go from one safe house to the next. There's no story to it either. The game starts out with you on top of a roof, selecting your weapons. After you do that, you go downstairs and fight zombies. It's fun for maybe an hour. Anyway, it's not a terrible game. There's potential here for future Left 4 Dead games but this one really falls short of what could have been a fantastic game with a little more effort by the developers. Rent it, don't buy. You don't want to be stuck with this.
